North Augusta, South Carolina's Cla Knight powered his Augusta Aquatics #42 Longhorn Crate Late Model to a Top-5 finish in Saturday night’s $5,000-to-win Modoc 100.

Even at that, with the struggles we’ve had early in the year, I’m definitely pleased with our performance. We’ll head onto Cherokee and try to get our first win of the season."

He's claimed 89 wins during his racing career, and in 2016 alone he has scored five triumphs.

Cla reached this goal by finishing in the runner-up spot on Sunday in the weather-delayed Georgia State Championship Race at Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Georgia).

“We’ll take second, as I could have tried to make something happen at the end of the race, but I had to look at the big picture,” Knight said.  “We’ll take this championship back to North Augusta with us and put it on the mantel next to the Fastrak MOV Championship Trophy.  I’m proud to have become the first driver in Fastrak history to win two championships in the same year.  Just to win one title with the competition in this series is pretty tough, let alone two!”
